Hello! We are Melissa and Scott!

The first thing that we want to tell you is that you are a courageous woman. We are aware that you are making a difficult decision, a decision that is selfless and full of love. We cannot fully understand how your heart feels considering an adoption plan for your child, and we want you to know that we will be in this with you in whatever support you need. Our prayer is that as you read our online profile, and review our profile book, you feel a real sense of genuineness, authenticity, love, and grace because these are primary values of our family. 

Our hope is that you can envision how very loved your child would be as a part of our family—in all our silliness, adventures, traditions, and quality time.

Our Story

Our story does not start with “love at first sight.”  When we first met, neither one of us was interested in dating anyone! Melissa was working as a therapist and Scott was in the military with plans to move soon. But as God so beautifully does, He created a pathway that led us to spending quality time together after church services deep in conversations filled with vulnerability and lots of laughter. Our casual interactions turned official when we married 11 months later. One week after our intimate wedding, we jumped into a truck with our fur baby, Steel, and drove across the country to where we now live.  

We have been married for over 5.5 years and are a blended family. Scott’s daughter and Melissa’s bonus daughter, Alyssa, is 21 years old. She is very excited to become a big sister. 

Adoption has always been a part of the conversation for growing our family. 

Both of us have personal experiences with adoption in our family’s and we believe this will help us to navigate the challenges that come with adoption with greater compassion and grace. You are not alone in this journey, and we look forward to pioneering this journey with you so that your precious child feels loved by all of us!

Home Sweet Home

We live in a diverse area that offers opportunities to explore different cultures through festivals, markets, and concerts. 

We live in a region that offers multiple beaches within 5 miles of our home and trails and mountains to hike within 20 miles of our home. If we feel like an adventure, we can drive north a couple of hours and see snow in the winter. Our area offers major sporting events, concerts, and excellent schools. We are grateful that as a military family we will not be moving again because we love our neighbors who all have kiddos under the age of 5 and we are the honoree aunt/uncle to them all.

Our home is situated along a bike path that leads to different beaches and hot spots in the area that we enjoy as a family. As a family, we enjoy hosting dinners for our friends, spending quality time together snuggled up with a good movie, taking walks with our fur baby, watching sunsets on the beach, going for pizza and gelato, and doing anything competitive with each other because we all enjoy different sports and activities.

Things We Will Teach Your Child:

• Love hard, laugh loud, and live a life for others to model. 

• No matter your age, maintain a playful, childlike heart and remain curious about the world around you and the people you encounter. 

• Dream big, pursue excellence, take risks, and don't be afraid to fail. 

• Manners, chivalry, handshakes, and hugs aren't old-fashioned, but are strong traits that will take you far in life. 

• A lot of "what not to do" through our own mishaps as imperfect people that just have a lot of love and wisdom to give! 

Traditions We Love:

• Celebrating birthday months in our home.

• Carving pumpkins in the fall.

• Picking out our yearly Christmas tree and decorating it together.

• Going to motocross races / tracks to ride.

• Doing holiday puzzles that we use to decorate our home.

• We are a family who makes the small moments feel significant!
