Jonna and Bryan

Jonna and Bryan are hoping to grow their family through adoption

Hello! It's so nice to "meet" you!

Thank you for taking the time to get to know us!

We know you are only just considering adoption but we want you to know, first and foremost, that we support whatever decision you make. We honestly can’t say we understand how it feels to be in your shoes, but please understand that the range and intensity of emotions you’re going through are not overlooked. We have hope for both you and your child and the future that God has planned for you both, whatever path you choose for moving forward.

Whether you’re looking at pictures of family game nights, soccer, or other activities, please know that our deepest desire is to develop the hearts of our kids. We want them to grow emotionally and spiritually the same way they grow physically - which feels way too fast most days! We’ve always talked about wanting a larger family - especially Bryan who grew up as an only child.

Adoption has woven its way into our lives in so many different ways throughout our years together, and we believe that all of those encounters were intentional in leading us here.

About Us

We’re Bryan and Jonna (both 36, with the same birthday!), and two girls - Maggie (8) and Emmarie (4).

Bryan works as a utilities consultant with a background in electrical engineering, and Jonna is a sales manager with a software company. We moved in July 2022 to be closer to our immediate family, and we love our community and city! Our neighbors have already started to feel like family as well. Jonna grew up in a military family, and through many moves she learned that you don’t have to share blood to be family.

Thank you for taking the time to learn about us. We are here to encourage you - that through everything, you are loved, prayed for, and have purpose. And as you learn more of our family story, our hope is that you see our authentic selves. Not a perfect family or a flawless home, but two parents resolved to become a little better each day for each other and our children. Two girls that we want to raise as responsible and capable adults, with the knowledge and skills to thrive on whatever path life takes them.

A family that shares a lot of laughter and hugs, but also loves each other just as much, if not more, through our fears, failures, and uncertainties.

Home sweet home!

We live in Texas in a four-bedroom, three-and-a-half-bath home with an open floor plan and large backyard, which is great for parents vs. kids soccer games.

Our patio is also a favorite spot to have a popsicle, blow bubbles, play with a water table, or draw with chalk. Our open floor plan makes for fun movie and game nights. We want to have a home where you want to be out in the main part of the house, because that central area feels the most inviting and is where all the fun happens! Currently, our two kids share a room by choice, which means sometimes it’s crazy and loud, and other times it’s sweet to listen to their quiet conversations as they go to sleep at night.

Our neighborhood is very social and has a great diversity of ages and cultures.

At any given time, there are probably four kids playing together within a few houses of us. We’re developing great relationships with many of our neighbors, all with kids close in age to our two girls. Our neighborhood is extremely involved as a community from school events, to having a neighborhood swim team and neighborhood soccer teams, to ordering pizza to be delivered to someone’s driveway while we all hang out and play until the kids start melting down because they’re exhausted but want to keep playing together. Our elementary school is only a five minute walk away, and our neighborhood park has plenty of playground features and green space to get some energy out after school.

Train up a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not depart from it.
— Proverbs 22:6

There’s a wealth of wisdom in that one sentence above, and we believe that our home has the atmosphere and values to set your child on that path. A path they can follow for their whole life, that no matter where it takes them, they will make a difference in the lives of those around them.

In Closing

We hope you’ve seen our values clearly - faith, education, and the pursuit of our God-given passions.

We do our best to model that for our girls through our own words and actions: by being quick to listen and slow to anger, by committing to lifelong learning inside and outside of work, and by being our children’s biggest fans in everything they do. As we’ve learned through 14 years of marriage and 8 years of parenting, our words matter...both what we say, as well as how we say it.

If you should choose us, here’s what we commit to you and to your child:

  • A place where you child will be raised with the skills and confidence to thrive as an adult

  • A home with opportunities to excel in any giftings and try new things, without the weight of impossibly high expectations

  • A family where faith is a priority, and by extension a focus on patience, gentleness, and forgiveness

  • A commitment to a good education, from elementary all the way through college

  • A broader family that is committed to your child’s well-being and success

  • An intentional and collaborative open adoption with you, however that may look
