Jamie and Dan

Hi! We’re Jamie and Dan from Seattle, Washington.

We're incredibly honored that you're taking a few minutes to look through our profile and learn a bit about us.

We cannot imagine how you may be feeling right now as you weigh all your options, but we want to express our support for whatever you decide to do. You are the mother and you have our utmost respect.

Thank you for giving us the opportunity to introduce ourselves as you consider adoption. Our hope is that through our profile you'll see how much joy and love our little family has to share. We look forward to potentially getting to know you better as you consider the best path for you and your baby.

Our Story

We are both in our mid-40s, have stable careers, own a home in Seattle, and are close to our families.

We love the outdoors, biking, skiing, hiking, cooking, visiting coffee shops, and traveling to new places to explore. We started dating in 2018 and got married in 2021 on New Year’s Eve. We have been together for six years, married for three years, and have a 2-year-old son, James, whom we adopted at birth in 2022.

James is thriving and has transformed our lives in so many wonderful ways. He has boundless energy, so each weekend is an excursion to nearby parks or hikes in the mountains. We were already big travelers, so it’s been fun to see James learn to love travel, too! He loves both the beach and the snow, but most of all he loves exploring the large park near our house with forests, playgrounds, ponds, and playfields.

Home Sweet Home

We live in Seattle, Washington, surrounded by water, mountains, and evergreen forests.

Our city is very diverse, and our home is in a lively waterfront neighborhood with playgrounds, big parks, and restaurants. The most charming aspect of our neighborhood is the wildlife! Even though we’re only 15 minutes from downtown Seattle, lots of blue herons and bald eagles nest nearby. And we can see (and hear!) seals, sea lions, and sea otters playing down below in Salmon Bay. We like to take our kayaks to go sea kayaking to the nearby lighthouse.

One of our family traditions it going to the local farmer’s market on the weekends. We also try to hike nearby Mount Washington at least once each year. At home, playtime between dinner and bedtime each night is full of music and mini dance parties, followed by James reading lots of books before bed.

Meet Dan!

  • Wanted to be a weatherman when he was younger and still follows the weather.

  • Lived in London, England for 13 years and has British citizenship.

  • Loves to be outdoors running, cycling, skiing, snow-shoeing, and hiking.

Meet Jamie!

Family is a soft and gentle word for something strong. A foundation to stand upon when things go wrong. A place built through years. Of squabbles and tears. Of laughter and joy. And of love.
