Ashley and Aaron

Hi there! We're Ashley and Aaron!

First off, we want to say we are in awe of you. We don't know you, but we know you're making a selfless choice rooted in the deepest kind of love for a child. That is a decision we will honor and support throughout his or her life. We're excited about the idea of an open adoption and making sure the child feels your love and understands your incredible resolve for them to have the best life possible.

And we hope to show you what a life with us would look like -- one full of hiking mountains, story time at night, snuggles with us and our three fur babies, big family gatherings and game nights, a faith journey at our diverse and adoption-supportive church, dinner as a family at the table, and as much time outside as possible.

But more than anything, we hope to be parents who show immeasurable love as we help navigate the child through this world with grace, balance, and wisdom.

About Us

It's not the kind of first date people write songs about -- we met for chips and queso during the pandemic.

But when it felt like the world was falling apart, we were falling in love. We were building a foundation that felt natural, real, and full of respect. We got married and bought a house a few years later, and now we spoil our dog and two cats on a daily basis.

Aaron grew up in a rural town in Southeast Texas, going hunting and fishing, playing baseball, and traveling around and camping with his parents. After college, he became a CPA and now helps to run a small accounting firm.

Ashley grew up in a North Texas suburb playing sports, writing in her journal, and practically living at the church where her Dad served as a minister. She got her masters in journalism before starting a career that's taken her all over the country reporting on just about everything, from politics to natural disasters.

We love reading, traveling, hiking, going to concerts, and spending time with friends and family. Aaron loves to play golf, and Ashley loves to run. And while we try to stay active, we also love pizza night on Fridays, catching up on our favorite shows, watching live sports, and enjoying quality time at home.

Home and Family

We live in a diverse, friendly cul-de-sac in a North Texas suburb, just off a walking trail with lots of greenery, playgrounds, and local wildlife.

We walk on the trail every day with our dog, Jolene, who has become quite the celebrity in our neighborhood with her sweet spirit.

Our home is located in a top school district -- the same one Ashley attended as a child -- and close to restaurants, stores, dog parks, and family-friendly venues. Plus, we're only seven minutes away from Ashley's brother and his family.

Inside our home, we enjoy lots of natural light, a screened-in porch, a backyard -- where Aaron likes to hit the golf ball with Jolene -- and a cozy living room with a fireplace. We cook most nights and eat dinner at the table with no TV. We feel so blessed and fortunate to live where we live. Our home is our refuge and a place of peace amid this busy world.

We're also lucky to have a lot of family in the area. In addition to Ashley's family, Aaron has several cousins, aunts, and uncles who live nearby, and his parents tend to visit once a month. We make it a priority to get together regularly.

Thank you!

Thank you for taking the time to read about us! We'll be honest; we're a little bit nervous about this experience. We're not perfect people and we don't expect others to be perfect either.

But we're also excited. And we trust that this is the path for us -- that we're meant to learn and love and grow from this uniquely beautiful connection with you.

Our pledge is to be genuine with you, to be real, to be open, and to share in the joy of this new life that you're bringing into the world. And if we are blessed to parent the child, we hope to make you and your decision feel valued and respected for the rest of your lives.

Above all, we hope that you find support and peace in this journey, whatever you decide. Your matter. Your voice matters. And we wish you all the best.
